Sustainable Concrete Leaders
Sustainable Concrete Leaders are project developers, construction companies, and businesses along the construction value chain who have recognized that the decarbonization of the building sector is closely linked to the consistent reduction of CO2 emissions and resource waste in concrete. The network brings together pioneers in the construction and real estate industry in the use of genuine sustainable concrete.
Making sustainable concrete widely available and cost-effective - that is alcemy's raison d'être. Decarbonizing concrete, however, requires the involvement of a wider range of stakeholders outside of the producers themselves. We recognized that project developers and construction companies will play an increasingly integral role in the wider adoption of sustainable materials and decided to create a space to facilitate conversations across the concrete value chain. The Sustainable Concrete Leaders Network does just that: connects innovative cement and concrete manufacturers with sustainability-oriented pioneers in project development and the construction industry to push sustainability into the mainstream.
Added value of a partnership
A significantly CO2-reduced concrete was used at the Edge East Side. A particular focus was placed on achieving the low CO2 equivalent by substituting clinker with available limestone filler, which is essential for the further decarbonization of concrete construction. This new generation of cements will be used in several construction projects in the near future.
